Genre: Game Action/AdventureDescription Majesco and GlyphX Games invite players into the future in ADVENT RISING for the Xbox. Players take on the role of Gideon Wyeth, a rookie pilot. Gideon seems to have it all: a supportive heroic brother, a loving fiancée, and a bright future. He’s even invited to take part in the historic first contact with an alien race. However, these aliens bring dire news: a race called the Seekers is coming to eliminate all of humanity. ADVENT RISING is a third-person shooter, putting futuristic weaponry like laser rifles and powerful missile launchers in the player’s hands as Gideon takes on the Seekers and their minions. Players can equip two different weapons at once by assigning them to either Gideon’s left or right hand. Weapons auto-lock onto the nearest target, and players can rotate targets at the touch of a button, making combat easy and painless. As the story progresses, Gideon also gains psychic abilities, allowing him to hurl enemies across the field. As players use weapons and powers, they accumulate upgrade points. Weapons and powers are automatically upgraded when a certain number of points are accumulated. Vehicles such as the Scythe ground vehicle are available on certain missions as well. Players who enjoy science-fiction storylines and shooter games are sure to find ADVENT RISING an enjoyable game. The storyline, characters, and gameplay are all outstanding and will keep players involved.
